NAOMI KIMANI DNP, APRN, PMHNP-BC

I am a board certified psychiatric Mental Health Practitioner.

I have worked in mental health since 2017. I hold a Doctorate in Nursing Practice degree from Chatham University, PA. I obtained my Baccalaureate and Master of science in nursing degree from the university of Texas at Arlington. I am accredited and licensed to practice in Texas and Washington. Prior to my career in mental health, I worked in critical care primarily with advanced heart failure and post transplant patients for 10 years. During this time I became acutely aware of effects of mental health in recovery & general sense of well-being. Although most mental health issues are said to be lifelong, I have been grateful for the remissions and being part of my clients journey.

I have experience working in group private practice, critical care, inpatient psychiatric unit, group home setting, residential treatment facility and community health. I have extensive experience in both evaluating and treating mood & anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, PTSD, substance use and dual diagnosis.

My background has shifted many of my perceptions about race, class and the disparities in our society, allowing me opportunities to reflect on my own beliefs and experiences and exercise humility in new ways. My goal is to provide comprehensive, inclusive and compassionate care in all aspects of my life and work.
