Joshua Furtado

I have been in the mental health industry since 2001 in various capacities. I have training in trauma-informed care, somatic trauma recovery, substance abuse treatment, DBT, CBT, and other evidence-based practices. I obtained my Master’s degree in Contemplative Psychotherapy from Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado. Primary studies were Buddhist Psychotherapy and Mindfulness-based practices. I obtained my Bachelor’s of Arts degree from Metropolitan State College of Denver, with a focus in psychology, human development, abnormal psychology, personality, social psychology, and theater. I obtained my Associate of Arts degree from Red Rocks Community College with a focus in psychology, human sexuality, human development, and theater. I am licensed in both Oregon and Washington for mental health and substance use counseling. To maintain my licenses, I complete at least 20 hours a year of continuing education. I have a professional background in diet, nutrition, and exercise.

Hobbies and Interests: I love board games, tabletop role-playing games, video games, bicycling, martial arts, and yoga.
