About Me

My name is Dana Calvin and my pronouns are She/Her/Hers. After working several years as a Cosmetologist, I needed a change and started working in Office Management and Administrative Support. I’m grateful to be able to use my existing skills, in a supporting role, to help the community that I live in and love. Life has taught me that I can do more than I thought was possible, I can love more that I thought was possible, and that every day is an opportunity to make a difference in someone else’s life.

Donnie Lewis, Front Office Coordinator

About Me

Hello There,

My name is Donnie.

Throughout my life I’ve had the great honor of working in many diverse and dynamic settings such as Alzheimer’s Care, Public Service and In-Home Care. The thread that binds these different worlds together is a passion for working in service of others and for the greater good of our communities. I am excited to be a part of Maitri and their mission to provide a compassionate, thoughtful space that is accessible to everyone in our community.

Ezra Kilfoil, LMFT

About Me

Hi my name is Ezra, and my pronouns are He/Him/His.

I have been working with children and families in the mental health field since 1992. I have had the opportunity to work in a variety of settings from group homes, residential facilities, psychiatric hospitals, schools, and private practice. I have come to appreciate the variety of challenges we all face from early childhood to late adulthood.
After graduating with a Bachelors degree in Psychology from Portland State University I moved to California and obtained a Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Chico State University in 2001. In 2010 I decided to further my education and received a School Counseling degree from Seattle University.

Katie Ahrens, CEO

About Me

Hi my name is Katie Ahrens and my pronouns are She/Her/Hers

After working in the marketing and healthcare fields, I decided to focus my career in Mental Health. I saw, from personal experience and of those around me, how this type of work truly does have a positive affect on all body systems. From the Self we work outward. Through the practice of positive Self-Care you begin to create more compassion and awareness, not only for yourself, but your community.
I began working in the corporate world at a young age, went to college, and then had two babies, now 12 & 9. When I decided to return to work, I chose to seek out training in the Yogic Practice and became a teacher. This was extremely fulfilling and I found that my voice and compassion for people really made a difference. Helping people has always been my goal in life.
I love our Providers and all of our clients here at Maitri Mental Health. We offer a supportive and compassionate atmosphere. I work with all of our staff and Providers to work with referrals, billing, community services, contracts, and all areas of Operations.
You can find me here most days and I’m known to have an uproarious laugh! We laugh a lot here and my hope is to always encourage and support an open, giving, warm atmosphere. I believe in clear communication and setting goals to continue to extend our Mental Health Services to our greater community. To work towards further advocacy within our community, so that we may offer more mental health resources.

Thank you for visiting our site and please reach out if you have any questions!

Maddie Campbell-Jones, BSS

About Me

Hello! My name’s Maddie and I use she/her/they/them pronouns.
I am one of the Behavior Support Specialists here at Maitri Mental Health.

I spent several years in Oregon as a student and earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Oregon. After that I worked in residential settings with youth who presented with behavioral concerns following traumatic experiences. It was at this job that I learned valuable skills in understanding my fellow humans, as many interactions I had there can be applied to adults as well: those amazing kids showed me that we all have needs to be met, and those needs usually involve being heard, understood, supported and valued.

I moved to the Vancouver, Washington area to be closer to family, and since being here I’ve had the privilege of working in a variety of mental/behavioral health settings such as group homes, substance recovery clinics, residential facilities, psychiatric hospitals, and outpatient facilities. I am also currently working towards my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling through Walden University. Through these experiences I’ve seen the positive impact of mental healthcare on people’s lives and I want to be a part of changing the way our community and society views mental health. On a smaller level, I simply want to provide others with compassion, empathy, comfort and support and put smiles on as many faces as I can.

About Me

NAOMI KIMANI DNP, APRN, PMHNP-BC

I am a board certified psychiatric Mental Health Practitioner.

I have worked in mental health since 2017. I hold a Doctorate in Nursing Practice degree from Chatham University, PA. I obtained my Baccalaureate and Master of science in nursing degree from the university of Texas at Arlington. I am accredited and licensed to practice in Texas and Washington. Prior to my career in mental health, I worked in critical care primarily with advanced heart failure and post transplant patients for 10 years. During this time I became acutely aware of effects of mental health in recovery & general sense of well-being. Although most mental health issues are said to be lifelong, I have been grateful for the remissions and being part of my clients journey.

I have experience working in group private practice, critical care, inpatient psychiatric unit, group home setting, residential treatment facility and community health. I have extensive experience in both evaluating and treating mood & anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, PTSD, substance use and dual diagnosis.

My background has shifted many of my perceptions about race, class and the disparities in our society, allowing me opportunities to reflect on my own beliefs and experiences and exercise humility in new ways. My goal is to provide comprehensive, inclusive and compassionate care in all aspects of my life and work.

Tiffany Alferd, Employee Resource Manager

About Me

Hello, my name is Tiffany, and my pronouns are she/her/hers.

I have lived in Vancouver, WA my whole life surrounded by love from a very large, supportive family. I love football, cookouts and family gatherings. The colors red, black & Tiffany green are my favorites. My Entire life I have wanted to help people and make a positive change, from working as a preschool teacher for 8 years, to Human Resources/Payroll for 15 years, to working in Elderly Care, I have met some amazing colleagues along the way that have taught me so much. I believe kindness does not cost anything; it is something the world could use more of, as one act of kindness can change an entire moment in someone’s life. Life is not always fair or kind to us, it’s in those moments when you are humble and help someone even when you are struggling, which is real Beauty and Strength. I am proud to be a part of Maitri Mental Health’s family as the Employee Resource Manager and look forward to all the years to come.

Favorite Japanese Proverb I live by:

七転八起

“Fall down Seven times, Stand up Eight!”

It conveys the idea of persevering through challenges and setbacks, emphasizing the importance of never giving up and continuing to try even after facing repeated failures.
