Cathán Tautfest, BSS

My name is Cathán and my pronouns are They/Them/ Theirs and He/Him/His.

I started my professional journey in 2016 when I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a certificate in Human Services Case Management from Washington State University. While studying Psychology, I set my focus on Addictions Studies and Human Development. I am actively continuing my Addictions Counseling Education through courses that will award me a Certificate and further allow me to get closer to reaching my goal of becoming an Addictions Counselor.

I spend all of my free time volunteering within my community. I currently volunteer with a local non-profit organization that’s mission is to encourage and celebrate the positive diversity of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender and gender variant communities. Which aims to assist in the education of all people through the development of activities that showcase the history, accomplishments, and talents of these communities. This absolutely wonderful non-profit is Pride Northwest. The main connection people make with Pride Northwest is the Pride Parade and Festival. I have been volunteering with Pride Northwest since 2012 as the Parade Volunteer Coordinator and the Parade Co-Coordinator. I have, as of the last year, have found myself seated as a member of Pride Northwest’s board of Directors.

I aim to provide a safe and accepting environment in my daily practice.
