My name is Amber, pronouns she/her/hers.
I am a Behavior Support Specialist here at Maitri Mental Health. I support individuals in working towards achieving their own personal goals as well as reaching the stability that they desire whether that be with housing, relationships, communication or with their mental health challenges. I believe that this work should be centered around those that we support and I do my best to create an environment where individuals feel safe, brave, and worthy enough to voice their needs and trust that they will be heard. I have a passion for equity and social justice work and feel encouraged that this aligns with Maitri’s desire to be a change agent within the field of mental health.
I graduated from Portland State University in 2020 with a Bachelor of Social Work. I have my eye set on obtaining an MSW in the future. I have been working on and off within the mental health field in both inpatient and outpatient care for my entire adult life and have always enjoyed seeing the growth in those I support and within myself. I have learned so much and continue to do so daily.
